It took the better part of a year but our Local has a new agreement with the PSAC.
As executive members – and on behalf of our Local members – we offer our sincere thanks to those who served on our bargaining committee.
We recognize the hard work and commitment of:
Allison Pilon – who chaired the committee through its work finalizing our bargaining demands and the start of negotiations
Jacek Janczur – who took on the responsibility of committee chair when Allison took maternity leave late last fall,
Jawara Gairey, Jean-Rodrigue Yoboua, and Loren Crawford.
We appreciate their willingness to take on this task and to complete it successfully in this difficult climate.
As you may know, all of our correspondence with the members about bargaining has been through the PSAC email system. Since the ratification meeting it has come to our attention that some members on leave of absence may not have been aware that we had reached a tentative agreement and that a vote would be taking place because they were not accessing or could not access their PSAC email. Note that we do not remove members who are on leave of absence from our email list in the PSAC system.
We are in the process of gathering personal email addresses in order to create an email list that is separate from the PSAC system. We are continuing to work on this. In this way we hope to avoid situations where any of our members miss any important communications.
We have also recently launched our new website. We encourage members to check the site and to open an account – including their personal email. We’re pleased to report that many of you have already done so.
Once again, our thanks to our bargaining committee members.
In solidarity,
The members of the Local 2025 executive
